Noel Henry Leaver (1889 - 1951). He was born in Austwick, Yorkshire in 1889. He began his career as an architect and became one of the youngest students of the Royal College of Art when he began his studies at the age of 16. His early paintings is softer and weaker than his later works, but still demonstrate a keen understanding of parts and construction. Leaver won numerous scholarships and travel, and used them to travel to Europe and North Africa.
