Ivan Generalich 1914-1992
Ivan Generalich (horv. Ivan Generalic, December 21, 1914, Hlebin - 27 November 1992, Koprivnica) - Croatian artist-primitives,
the leader of the Croatian naive art.
Born into a peasant family. Since childhood self was drawing, using any improvised materials. In 1930 I got acquainted with
a professional artist K. Hegedushichem, who gave him some tips on technique of painting, priming the canvas, the work on
the glass. Since 1931 exhibitions in Zagreb, together with the masters of the "Earth". He became head of the school hlebinskoy primitive artists, while continuing to engage in farming work. In 1938 in Zagreb, the first solo exhibition Generalicha. In 1945 Generalich was adopted by the Union of Croatian artists. In 1953 his exhibition was held in Paris, has received good reviews
of critics, the artist lived there for two months. In 1958 personal exhibition Generalicha was organized in Brussels, and later
his works were exhibited in Sao Paulo, Dubrovnik, Baden-Baden, Basel, Bratislava. Generalich continuously participated in
collective exhibitions artists primitive (naive artists "). His works are in the technique of oil on canvas, wood and glass,
and watercolor.
Most of the works Generalicha devoted to village life. Peasant life appears to have seen how from the inside. It attaches to
