Edward Henry Pothast (eng. Edward Henry Potthast; 1857, Cincinnati - 1927, New York) - American painter.
In the 1879-1881 biennium. involved in the School of Art in Cincinnati, under the leadership of Thomas Satteruayta Noble, and then in Antwerp at Polidori Bofo, in the Munich Academy of Arts at Charles Marr, and in Paris at the Fernand Kormona, in the 1889-1891 biennium. exhibited at the Paris Salon. Since 1895, he lived and worked in New York.
Pothast painted in an optimistic manner impressionistic landscapes and genre scenes, usually with water, often with women and children on the beach, a brook, etc.
