Pizanello Antonio (Antonio Pisanello, present. The name of Antonio die Puccio Pisano) (ca. 1392 - 1395, Pisa - probably 1455, Rome) - one of the most prominent artists of the Renaissance and the early Italian quattrocento.

In December 1439 took part in the war against the Venetian Republic: in the composition of troops Gian Francesco I Gonzaga besieging Verona. Shortly after the release of Venice Verona authorities banned the artist's stay in its territory, and in 1442 was sentenced in absentia to the confiscation of property and deprivation of language «libel for defaming the republic and the Government of pronouncing words». In 1441-1444 years the artist, who was forbidden to live in the Venetian lands, worked at the court of the Duke of Ferrara Lionello d'Este.
