Romako Anton (Anton Romako, October 20, 1832 - March 8, 1889) - Austrian artist. Paintings on display at Vienna's Belvedere Gallery.

Anton was born in Romako Attsgersdorfe (now district of Vienna). Illegitimate son of industrialist Joseph Lepper (Josef Lepper) and Elizabeth Marie Anne Romako (Elisabeth Maria Anna Romako). He studied painting at the Vienna Academy (1847-1849), but his teacher, Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, considered it mediocre. Later he studied in Munich (1849) by Wilhelm von Kaulbach, then in Venice, Rome and London. In early 1850 he took private lessons from Karl Rahl in Vienna, whose style borrowed. In 1854 he began the journey to Italy and Spain, and in 1857 settled in Rome, where he painted portraits, genre scenes and landscapes for local foreigners.

In 1862 he married Sophie kebele (Sophie Köbel), daughter of architect Charles Kebele, Anton and Sophie were born 5 children, but in 1875 their marriage breaks up because of the lover Sophie. In 1876 Romako returned to Vienna, but can not withstand the new style, represented by Hans Makart lives primarily on the content of wealthy patrons, such as Count Kaufshteyn (Kuefstein).
