Nancy Ekholm Burkert의 작품들

Born in Sterling, Colorado in 1933. Burkert moved to Wisconsin with his family in 1945. She married Robert Burkert, Professor of Fine Arts in Fine Art at UWM, and has two children, Claire and Rand.
In the preface to The Art of Nancy Ekholm Burkert (Bantam, 1977), Michael Danoff, the curator of the Milwaukee Art Museum, said: "Burkert works in the tradition of artists for whom book illustrations is a type of fine art, like painting or sculpture. Each of the drawings made it becomes a work of art. Her pictures are not a secondary accompaniment to the words, but the basic and integral part of the book in which she is an equal partner with the writer. "(cited in Wisconsin Library Association Literary Awards, 1995)
"It's amazing in technology Burkert is that it is not watercolor or colored pencils - all of her illustrations were drawn with a thin feather color ink. Each color - this new ink, a lot of small strokes produce a surface almost picturesque." (Source: rikki-t-tavi.livejournal.com)
