Damon Winter (December 24, 1974) was born in Elmira, New York.
Photojournalist, documentary, deals with a travel-photography. On his account an insane amount of reports on various topics, including conflicts in Israel and Afghanistan, 9 / 11 in New York City, Olympic Games and etc. He spent the documentary footage of Vietnam, Cuba, Russia and India.
 Worked in such publications as The Dallas Morning News, Newsweek, Magnum Photos, The Ventura County Star and The Indianapolis Star, Los Angeles Times.
 
Received awards from World Press Photo, Picturàs of the Year, Society of News Design, NPPA Best of Photojournalism, APME, and was named the NPPA Region 8 Photographer of the Year in 2002 and the California Press Photographer of the year in 2006. Received the 2005 Pulitzer Prize (art photography) Sequence of the victims of sexual violence in western Alaska. In 2009, Damon Winter received another award in the category "Feature photography" for his series on the election campaign of Barack Obama.
 Winner of "Pictures of the Year International" in 2011 in the category NEWSPAPER PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR - 1 st place, MULTIMEDIA PORTFOLIO OF THE YEAR - Award of Excellence, FEATURE PICTURE STORY - 3 rd place.
